前のエントリーで触れた New Order、「New Order ってなに聴いても、同じに聴こえる」と言われたので、muxtape 作ってみました。名付けて「The Very Best Of New Order」
(昨日このエントリーあげるつもりだったのだが muxtape 電源火災でサーバ落ちてました。壁が三つ飛んだってショートって怖い。）
好きなミュージシャン・ベスト3は

というぐらい好きなのだが、その割に、一番新しい「Waiting For The Sirens' Call」はちゃんと聴いていなかったりするので、それ以前のアルバムから選んでみた。

01 Regret ( Republic )
New Order レコードに歌詞がついてないので有名だったのだけど、最近はなんでもウェブに載ってるので便利。正直半分ぐらいしか聴き取れなかったので、あーこんなこと 言ってたのかって驚きも有り。The Smiths ほど文学的でなく。Lou Reed がなにかで、歌詞は詩とは違う、簡単な言葉で、深く広いのが良い歌詞だと言ってた。

へなちょこラップが聴き所。ワールドカップ、イングランドチームの応援歌だったらしいが気合いが入るのか、これで。
「リバプールのストライカー、ジョン・バーンズ（John Barnes）が、この曲の中で意外にも上手なラップを歌っているからである。
この大会の間にイングランドで一躍名声を得たポール・ガスコイン（Paul Gascoigne）も、結構滑らかな声を披露している。」
